Originating from Marlborough in the UK, the Ramsbury Single Estate Vodka by Ramsbury Brewing & Distilling Co. was crowned Spirit of the Year at the 2021 London Spirits Competition. Reigning over an array of spirits like whisky, gin, and rum, the vodka also took home the title of  Best in Show by Country, Vodka of the Year, and Best Spirit by Quality.

For four consecutive years, the London Spirits Competition has been one of the leading platforms known to put some of the best spirits on the map for both drinkers and spirits buyers. Tasting and judging the spirits are some of the UK’s most accomplished bartenders, bar managers, and spirits buyers. These experts come from some of the most celebrated establishments in the country and are accomplished in their own careers in the restaurant, bar, and beverage industry.

The group of judges for the London Spirits Competition 2021 included some of the greatest names in the trade to name but a few: Giorgio Bargiani - Head Mixologist at The Connaught Bar, Georgia Billing - General Manager at City of London Distillery & Bar, Daniel Susko - Head of Bars at Annabel's and The Birley Clubs, Ali Ali - Oriole Bar.

Awarding spirits on the basis of quality, value, and packaging, this year’s judging panel tasted spirits from over 70 countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, United States, Italy, Canada, France, and Germany. 

The winning Ramsbury Single Estate Vodka is made with the combination of two ingredients, namely Horatio wheat grown in the distillery’s fields, and their own chalk filtered water, which when distilled makes one of the smoothest and most elegant spirits.

Ingredients:
50ml Ramsbury Single Estate Vodka
25ml Fino Sherry
Fever-Tree White Grape & Apricot Soda

Fill the glass with ice. Add all ingredients and top with Fever-Tree White Grape and Apricot Soda. Garnish with a mint sprig.

With Ramsbury Distillery, it's sustainability first

The distillery is stationed amongst the 19,000 acres of land on the Ramsbury Estate, with the milling shed sat just next door. The Ramsbury team pride themselves to be farmers first, using their deep-rooted understanding that the more one cares for the land, the better the quality of the grain it gives. 

The Ramsbury Estate is widely known for practicing environmentally-conscious farming, using the perfect blend of tradition and innovation to distill spirits of the highest quality with the lowest environmental impact. The copper stills use the steam generated by a biomass boiler fed by the estate’s own sustainable woodland. Post distilling completion, the spent grains are fed to animals on the farm, and the wastewater is filtered by a wildlife-friendly bed system that feeds into the lake.
